Home Sweet Home

We have finally arrived home to Michigan. The day after we got home we went and picked up Pepper. She had defiantly grown! TheLamines took Pepper while we were gone. They showed us some pictures of Pepper and Tory, theLamine's dog. It looked like Tory and Pepper got along very well. When we got home I felt sure Pepper missed Tory already. On memorial day or my birthday I went with my friend to a pool club (racket club) opening party, We swam and ATE a lot! That Tuesday we started school again. It was really nice to see my friends and teachers again! We were in school for about 3 weeks and then it was summer! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!! I haven't even finished unpacking yet, but does it really matter?
Have a good summer!

Good bye barbecue.

Today we hosted a good bye barbecue at our house. We invited about every one we met in Australia. We invited many people so we were in a great rush to get every thing done. First we had some snacks (chips, crackers, nuts, and much more YUMMY stuff). I liked that part best. After that we had a large lunch of great variety's of food. Then we hung out with the Mahoods, or three girls my age. Soon we got out the cake. The cake was pure chocolate and it said Goodbye Adelaide. The cake was also a high light. Not long after that I experienced my first real goodbye. I must admit that I am really Really going to miss the Mahoods, or the quads, Tracy, Natalie, and Hellen. It was a bit hard but maybe I'll see them again, maybe?

What were learning in school.

This week in school we have been learning about circuits. On Friday my teacher received the brain boxes that he ordered. We went into groups of three and got a box per person. The Brain Box is a box full of stuff that lets you make circuits. We made a circuit were instead if a switch you have a magnet thing. You slid a magnet over the magnet thing and the light turns on. We also did this with a fan. If you wait long enough the fan flies off the motor and goes flying through the air. We all had great fun doing this. I thought it was a really fun way to spend half of the day.

School fun

My friends Ivy and Grace and I have been saving points from being good at school. Now that we have enough points we get to do something fun all together. Not to long ago we decided to use our points and make chocolate chip muffins. One day I brought in the recipe and we divided the ingredients. Today at school we brought every thing that we were meant to bring . We made the muffins. It was really fun to make them. When they had cooled after cooking them we fed a couple to the staff. Then we split them into quarters for the class. We got a whole of course, because we had earned the points to make them. It was a good school moment to remember M.P.S (Marryatville Primary School) for!

Kangaroo Island.

Just a week ago, we visited Kangaroo island. We went with another family, the Schoenis. They have two children. One is my age, 10, and the other is 8. On the first day there we went to see some seals. They were so cute! We saw lots of pups with their mothers. After the seals we went to a sand dune. Maddie, (the oldest child), Sophie (the youngest child) and I went and climbed the neighboring sand dune. We slid down it on our stomachs a couple times, that was really fun. It was really amazing that those huge things where purely sand, they where really high too. Then we saw a man feed a bunch of pelicans. The pelicans were huge! There were some seagulls around . Some landed on the mans head! Some pelicans flew and tried to land in the tub of fish, the man caught them in the air! After that we drove to our cottage for the night.

The next day we drove to a rocky bay place. There were tons of really cool rocks and shells. I found some really awesome shells. After having a look at the rocks we headed off to the remarkable rocks. They were really cool. We climbed up a couple. They were so cool because they were in all different shapes. I was really astonished at their sizes too. After that we went to admirals arch. There was a seal look out there. We saw lots of seals in the water and snoozing away on the rocks. I have really come to adore seals by now. There was also an arch of rocks. There were some seals under there too. We got to get really close to those. Then we started back for home.

The next day was our last day. First we visited a lavender farm. It smelled really good. Then we went to a eucalyptus farm. There they made
eucalyptus oil from eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus oil smells terrible, but its extremely useful. It takes off sap and labels on jars, even though it can be poisonous if you eat it. After that we visited a honey farm. The honey on kangaroo island is supposed to be special because the bees are different. We had some samples, I didn't think it tasted different. We also got to see a bee's nest. That was very cool. After that it was time to go and catch the ferry back. It had been a unbelievable time!

Look backs on our summer in Australia

Last summer we learned and experienced some stuff around Adelaide. I found all the animals especially cool. We all had to notice the birds, one because they're so pretty and two because they're so loud! Cockatoos are one of our all time favorites because they're so quiet!(opposite). Some parrots make a wonderful wake up call and others are the best hoarse lullaby! I also loved how you could see wild koalas and kangaroos! The koalas sure were cute! But NOT cuddly! We went to a wild life park. We pet koalas and kangaroos. The kangaroos were REALLY soft! That was extremely fun, or heaps fun (the Australian way). We all tried some new things. I discovered Iced Chocolate, a splendid drink! It tastes like a chocolate milk slushy! We also discovered cordial. It's like a juice syrup that you mix with water to make. We all like this a lot too. We also went to the beach! I loved it. There were some awesome shells! We also swam in the huge waves! They were so fun to play in! We all loved the beach in one way or another. You probably can tell by now that we have gotten a good impression on Australia so far!
